VAD - Voluntary Assisted Dying

From 19 June 2019, Victoria's voluntary assisted dying laws come into action, providing choice for patients with terminal health conditions to manage their end of life.

This provides a number of opportunities and challenges for health care providers and your readiness to respond to such requests will require careful planning, communication, systems and policies for your organisation.

  • Do you know what your obligations will be?

  • How will your practitioners navigate this area?

  • Does VAD create ethical dilemmas for your practice (whether you choose to more actively participate or not)?

Start by understanding your requirements and having the conversation with your team.
